ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

We encourage students to arrive five to ten minutes before class starts. Dancers who arrive late may be asked to observe class at the discretion of the instructor to prevent injury and class disruptions. Students ages seven and under should not be dropped off without being accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Please accompany them until they have entered the building and pick them up promptly at the end of class at their assigned pick-up location.

AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL

To ensure the safety and quality of instruction for your dancer, persons who are non-active students nor parents/legal guardians of non-active students are not permitted to any common areas reserved for student and instructor use only during hours of operation, including INSPIRE School for the Arts facility and affiliated events, competitions, etc.

ATTENDANCE

Attendance is vital to the growth and development of a dancer’s training. All dancers are expected to attend class on a regular basis. Excessive absences may result in suspension from studio performances.

CELL PHONE USAGE

No cell phones or computers may be used during class time and must remain inside a dance bag if brought into the classrooms.

CLASS OBSERVATION

We have a closed-circuit video monitoring system in our lobby area for parents/legal guardians to observe. Additionally, a live stream for your child's class will be accessible via the Parent Portal beginning January 2023. Otherwise, classes are closed to friends or family members.

FOOD & DRINK CONSUMPTION

No food, drink, or gum in the studio rooms, with the exception of water in a sealable container. All food consumed outside of the studio room must be cleaned up and thrown in the trash.

ILLNESS

If a dancer is ill, please keep them home until they are well enough to fully participate in class and are non-contagious. Please email or call the studio if you plan to keep your child home.  We have discontinued our Zoom class option at this time.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

INSPIRE School for the Arts will make every attempt to hold scheduled classes when inclement weather strikes. In the case of heavy storms, bitter cold, or unsafe driving conditions, we will post class cancellations notices in the following places.

In the event of a cancellation due to inclement weather, students are welcome to attend a make-up class of the same or similar level within 30 days of their cancelled class.

MAKEUP CLASSES

If classes are cancelled due to inclement weather or teacher absence, a makeup class will be scheduled within 30 days.

DANCE SHOES

Dancers please do not wear your dance shoes outside the studio/in the parking lot. Parents, please send your dancer to the studio in outside shoes and have them change inside the building. Dancers should change back into their outside shoes prior to exiting the building.

MEDICAL INFORMATION

Please notify INSPIRE School for the Arts of any medical conditions or special needs your child may have. All medical information is kept confidential.

WEATHER CANCELLATION

Please check your email, SMS messages, or our Facebook page for inclement weather cancellations. We will assess the risk and determine whether or not class needs to be cancelled by 1:30pm.

LOST AND FOUND

Please mark all dancewear, shoes, and personal items with your child’s name. We will make every effort to return lost items; however, we cannot be responsible for any items your child brings to class. All unclaimed items will be donated during the winter break and end of the season.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS

INSPIRE School for the Arts reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach class. In the event that we cannot offer an appropriate substitute, the class may be cancelled or rescheduled.

PARENT/STUDENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

A parent or student may request a conference with the INSPIRE Staff by appointment only. There will be no conferences between classes, without an appointment, or without the director present.

STUDIO USAGE BETWEEN CLASSES

Dancers are welcome to wait for their next scheduled class in our facility after written notice has been given from a parent and/or legal guardian. However, dancers are to remain inside the building exclusively in the lobby area or dancer breakroom. Dancers who continuously break this rule will no longer be allowed to wait for their next class on our studio grounds.

TERMINATION OF ENROLLMENT

INSPIRE School for the Arts reserves the right to terminate enrollment of a student due to certain circumstances. Examples including but not limited to; behavior that disrupts class, other students, or instructors, abuse of other students’, instructors, or property, dangerous behavior displayed by student or parents, or the inability to meet a parent and/or child’s needs.

DROPPING A CLASS

If a family wishes to drop a student from a class, it must be done on the 1st of the month prior to the month the student wishes to end enrollment, otherwise the card on file will be charged for that month's tuition - students may continue to take class through the duration of that month's paid tuition.
